"After injuring my knee, it became apparent that surgery was my only option if I ever wanted to get back on the playing field. My injury required a combination of procedures- an "OATS" procedure in addition to a micro fracture. Given my age and where I was in the stage of my playing career, the odds of me playing again were not in my favor.
